Colorado Program Manager

We are hiring a Colorado Program Manager, overseeing Rocky Mountain National Park and the Flat Tops Wilderness.

This job is based in Estes Park, CO area and is full-time during the months of June – September at an average of 38 hours per week. Part-time, casual work outside of season, October – May, is needed.  A willingness to maintain a flexible schedule and work weekends and/or holidays is necessary.

 A willingness to learn and work with our llamas is a must.

The PM position, during the period of June September, in which the PM is scheduled to work, optional housing is available on-site.

Job Objective:

In support of the company mission, the goal of the Program Manager (PM) is to achieve
safe, legal, and profitable field operations within their branch. The Program Manager is responsible for
basic business administrative duties related to the branch. Finally, they act as the program advocate by
setting improvement goals and developing expansion opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Attend regular meetings with Operations Director to stay on the same page and monitor goals;
  • Supervise all in-town and field staff;
  • Address disciplinary and performance concerns as needed;
  • Hire and train new hire staff as directed;
  • Complete annual evaluations for field staff;
  • Coordinate care and ensure llamas are provided food, water, and exercise at facility;
  • Ensure coordination with stock outfitter partner to ensure stock and material needs are met for all
    trips;
  • Maintain Minimum Operating Standards;
  • Create smooth front and backend systems for field staff;
  • Ensure that all trip leaders receive a pre-trip briefing and pertinent materials;
  • Ensure all field staff are educated to, and have resources for, permit compliance;
  • Ensure adequate 24/7 field support, duties as needed;
  • Review and approve payroll;
  • Maintain fleet assets and stock lists to order as necessary to ensure food pantry, first aid, warehouse and office supplies are stocked to Minimum Operating Standards;
  • Restock/recharge first aid kits, epi kits, and comm device kits;
  • Annual permit duties, applying for permits and reporting;
  • Work with park personnel and permit administrators;
  • Arrange and facilitate vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed;
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Operations Director;
Qualifications:
  • Strong supervisory, facilitation, organization, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency with Google Drive apps, Microsoft Office and previous experience with a CRM system;
  • This position requires ability to frequently lift, push and pull weights up to fifty (50) lbs, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and squatting over the course of a full work shift. Duties require fine manual dexterity to perform basic tasks;
  • At least 21 years of age and physical capability to meet company and DOT driving requirements, including ability to tow and reverse a trailer and stock trailer for transporting llamas;
  • Willingness to work with llamas and provide care for them at facility; Previous llama handling experience preferred;
  • Maintain current Wilderness First Responder & CPR;
  • Must pass a background check;
  • A strong knowledge of the field area is preferred: Rocky Mountain National Park and The Flat Tops Wilderness;
  • A strong understanding of commercial hiking and backpacking trips is preferred;
Compensation/Benefits:

Colorado Assistant Program Manager

We are hiring an Assistant Program Manager (APM) for the Colorado Front Range program, overseeing Rocky Mountain National Park and the Flat Tops Wilderness.

This job is based in Estes Park, CO and is parttime with an average of 20 hours a week from June September. Hours can vary weekly based on number of trips in the field and program needs. A willingness to maintain a flexible schedule and work weekends and/or holidays is necessary. A willingness to learn and work with llama stock animals is a must.

The APM position, during the period of June September, in which the APM is scheduled to work, optional housing is available on-site. This will include a private bedroom and bathroom with a shared kitchen with field staff members. 

Job Objective:

The APM is trained, and has managerial authority, to provide operational continuation of business in the PM’s planned or unplanned absence.

Greater Yellowstone Assistant Program Manager

We are hiring an Assistant Program Manager (APM) for our Idaho-based branch to work alongside the Greater Yellowstone Program Manager. The branch oversees trips in Yellowstone National Park, Wind River Range, Tetons- Jackson Hole area and the Absaroka-Beartooths. 

This job is based in Felt, ID and is full-time with an average of 30+ hours a week from mid May – September. Hours can vary weekly based on the number of trips in the field and program needs. A willingness to maintain a flexible schedule and work weekends and/or holidays is necessary.  A willingness to learn and work with our llamas is a must. 

The APM position, during the period of mid-May- September in which the APM is scheduled to work, optional housing is available in the company house property that includes a private bedroom and shared bathroom.

Senior Financial Accountant

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in the Finance Team and will focus on providing general support to all aspects of Finance. This includes the opportunity to manage the month end process to ensure all accounting entries are accurate and reporting is provided on a timely basis. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and regional finance team on reporting and analysis of Wildland-Intrepid Group operations as well as the budgeting, forecasting and planning activities.  You will be responsible for Wildland/North America DMC operations Finance and will form part of the wider global finance team.

Qualifications:

A passion for travel is a must-have, but in addition to that you’ll bring:  

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • CPA/CA or equivalent qualified (or near completion)
  • 3+ years Finance experience
  • Experience and knowledge of Accounting packages and managing broad Finance function
  • Experience in business performance reporting & planning
  • Strong excel skills

You will need to have an outstanding eye for detail and be highly organized, in addition to this, you’ll be highly adaptable, a fast learner, and most importantly will also share Wildland and Intrepid’s core values of integrity, innovation, fun, passion, growth, and responsibility.
