Absaroka-Beartooths

ABSAROKA-BEARTOOTH BACKPACKING

Explore the high plateaus, rushing streams, snow-capped peaks, and deep glacial carved valleys of the Absaroka mountains!

The Absaroka mountains offer some of the most rugged, remote, and scenic adventures in the country. This volcanic range contains hundreds of high plateaus, rushing streams, snow-capped peaks, and deep glacial carved valleys. The pristine habitat here provides opportunity to see wildflowers, elk, big-horn sheep, mountain goats, pronghorn, and moose. Additionally, it boasts world-class fishing and one of the densest grizzly bear populations in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Innumerable stories of our First Nations and early settlers who were rooted here provide a rich human/cultural history. Our trips run within the Shoshone National Forest, which is lesser known and harder to research compared to our National Parks, so you can have impeccable solitude while still enjoying the safety, comfort, and savvy that comes with your expert guide.

Come join us this summer for a trip you’ll never forget! Our Absaroka-Beartooth backpacking trips are all-inclusive with award-winning guides, top-notch gear, and fantastic backcountry cooking. Call us at 1-800-715-HIKE (4453) or email us to learn more.

These trips are officially operated by Wildland Llamas, a permitted outfitter in the Shoshone National Forest.
