Michelle B.

Michelle is a free-spirited, life-long athlete, adventurer, and naturalist. Her sense of wonder and thirst for adventure first developed in her backyard in upstate New York where she spent her childhood playing in the deciduous forests, swimming and canoeing at her family cabin, and hiking in the Adirondack mountains. A deep connection with nature was made during Michelle’s formative years that inspires her today. Michelle has achieved a M.S. in Outdoor Leadership and Environmental Education from the State University of New York, Cortland and a B.S. in Psychology and Visual Arts from the University of California, San Diego. She is not one to let the grass grow under her feet. Michelle’s nomadic nature has brought her around the world teaching, guiding, recreating, and playing rugby in places such as Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Baja California, Maine, Puerto Rico, California, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, and Utah. Michelle is passionate about connecting humans to the natural world, ultimately inspiring a deeper connection with themselves and their ecological community. She enjoys sharing moments of wonder with folks from all walks of life, in some of the most breath-taking, beautiful environments in the world. She knows laughter, fun, and having an open mind and heart are key on any journey…as well as delicious food! All things you can count on experiencing on one of her trips. She currently migrates between the Sierra Nevada mountains, the Channel Islands off the coast of California, and the deserts and canyons of the Southwest where she leads backpacking, sea cave kayaking, outdoor education, and wildlife viewing trips.
