Matt J.

Matt grew up in the Eagle Valley of Colorado. Skiing and hiking were second nature by the time he went to Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO where he graduated with a degree in Adventure Education. College became a testing ground as he learned backpacking, rock climbing, and mountaineering skills. Upon graduation Matt began working for a wilderness therapy company based in Colorado and Utah; honing his communication, risk management, and decision making skills culminating in over 500 field days spent in the wilderness. It was during this time that Matt discovered the true power that nature has in healing, growing, and challenging individuals. In 2022 Matt decided to put his skills to the test hiking the Colorado Trail. This was where a love for long distance hiking was born and Matt recently completed another thru hike of the Te Araroa trail in New Zealand. Matt loves to bring his sense of curiosity and creativity into wherever he goes, and his favorite pastime is watching the world wake up to the sunrise, especially in the Utah desert.
