Jillian B.
Jillian grew up exploring the woods around her home in Northern Virginia. She loved hiking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, swimming in lakes, and just playing outside. After earning a B.S. in Mathematics and a Secondary Teaching Certificate from the University of Mary Washington, she started her career as a Systems Engineer. However, it did not take long for Jillian to realize that she valued working outdoors more than the comforts of a 9-5. She left her 4-walled world and became a Ski/Snowboard Instructor. Jillian had found her dream Winter job, but it took longer to find a Spring/Summer/Fall job that she was passionate about. She explored many interests including dog sledding, wine making, experiential education, and team building. But, in 2013, Jillian had the opportunity to fulfill an old dream of hers, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail. After completing this great adventure, she was hooked and knew she wanted to guide others on backpacking expeditions. Jillian has been with Wildland Trekking since Spring 2016. In the off season, she teaches skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Colorado, and continues to walk really, really far. Jillian thru hiked the PCT in 2015 and the CDT in 2021, completing her Triple Crown.
