Jackson H.
Jackson grew up in Santa Cruz, California but his love for the outdoors began on his family’s summer trips to the Trinity Alps Wilderness in Northern California. He spent most summers of his childhood backpacking in the remote corners of the Trinities, and eventually worked as a backpacking guide there for three summers. His love for wild places brought him to the Pacific Northwest, where he lived and studied in British Columbia for four years, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Victoria. While in British Columbia he got hooked on rock climbing, and decided to move to Yosemite to pursue his climbing aspirations along with his lifelong passion of backpacking. He has worked as a backcountry guide in the Sierra Nevada since 2022, and spends his free time rock climbing in Yosemite Valley, the High Sierra and all across the western US. He also works as an outdoor educator at various locations around California during the spring and fall.
