Riley S.
Riley grew up in an outdoors enthusiast family outside of Portland, Oregon. His interest blossomed in college, and he began guiding summers in Alaska in Aialik Bay of the Kenai Fjords National Park. He took guests hiking and sea kayaking around the tidewater glaciers, and learned the ropes of wilderness travel in the demanding Alaskan backcountry. He soon moved to the Sierra where he has been ever since, working with the High Sierra undergraduate program and Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides and now Wildland Trekking! He has a passion for backcountry skiing and off-trail wilderness travel, having skied Mt Rainier and floated the Susitna River in Alaska source-to-sea in a pack raft. He has extensive work experience on the John Muir Trail and all across the Sierra, and is known for bringing his guitar along for the ride.
