Description

This tour is our most popular! It features stunning views at every step as it follows an exposed ridge into the depths of the Grand Canyon. One of the most photographed trails in the country, it’s the trail to hike if you’re not going to see anything else.

This tour meets at Grand Canyon National Park. If you’d prefer transportation from Flagstaff to the Canyon and back, check out our Grand Canyon Discovery Tour.

There are two main turn-around options on the South Kaibab Trail. The first is Cedar Ridge, which is a broad saddle with stunning views, bathrooms and a bit of shade. Turning around at Cedar Ridge make the hike 3 miles round trip. The other option is Skeleton Point, which offers a breathtaking lunch spot and an incredible vantage point from which to view the Colorado River and Phantom Ranch. Either way, this trail offers mind-blowing views and exciting hiking, much of which is in the first half of the hike.

(Important: We run hikes in almost all weather conditions and very rarely cancel. See our terms and conditions for information on cancellations and refunds.)

We are extremely pleased.

Brian was our guide, and we instantly knew we made a new friend! He was wonderful...full of information (it was our first time to the Grand Canyon). Very attentive to our safety, needs, and overall experience...and was just a complete joy to be around. He took extra care with some of my nutritional preferences as well; providing us with an awesome meal and snacks. We cannot wait to have him guide us on a longer expedition! From the time of booking to completion - the process was smooth and easy. We are extremely pleased. Thank you, Wildland Trekking and Brian! :)

Phenomenal Experience

An absolutely incredible day for my family. Hiking into the Grand Canyon for the first time with Brian as our guide is hard to put into words but I will try. From the start of the day Brian ensured we were comfortable with our packs and hiking poles and gave us plenty of snacks. Truly a professional at his job but also incredibly personable to all of us. He was very knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon as well as the geology of it. The views were breathtaking and Brian made it all the better with stories of the history of the Grand Canyon. Brian supplied us with some coffee/mocha at our turnaround point and it hit the spot for all. After we finished our hike and exited the South Kaibab trail he made us an incredible hot lunch that my family expects me to match upon returning home. I am already planning another trip with Wildland that's how impressed I was with our experience. Thank you
