Basecamp Tours
Hike with only a light daypack and sleeping soundly in comfortable, vehicle-accessible camps. Our campsites usually have access to amenities like showers. We offer basecamp tours in Alaska, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Southern Utah, Yosemite, Lassen Volcanic National Park, the Pacific Northwest, Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain National Park, and even in Chile.
Backpacking Trips
We offer backpacking trips in nearly all of our USA destinations! Some of our most popular backpacking destinations are Grand Canyon, Southern Utah, Yosemite, the Great Smoky Mountains and the Asheville Area in North Carolina. We also have some great backpacking options in Iceland, New Zealand, and Canada.
Inn-based, lodge-based, and hut-to-hut trips
Discover world class destinations in style with local lodging and unforgettable hikes. Only worry about hiking with a daypack, and you’ll always have a shower and a bed at the end of the day.
20 years in business, many thousands of miles hiked
We know what it takes to have a successful, and more importantly, a fun and memorable hiking vacation.
Professional expert guides
Professional expert guides
Your guide will lead the way, keep you safe, plan the meals, set up camp, drive to the trailhead, tell you stories, and wake you up with coffee. They do a LOT.
Meals with your diet in mind
Meals with your diet in mind
There's no freeze dried lasagna happening on our trips! Most of our trips can accommodate vegan, gluten free, kosher diets. And for the "regular" folk, we always take suggestions—eg. if salmon is your fav, it might pop up ;)
Top of the line gear
Top of the line gear
Where applicable, we're bringing you a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, camp stove and mess kit, trekking poles, and for some trips even brand new lightweight packs by Hyperlite.
Permits and safety
Permits and safety
You never have to worry about sorting through the ins and outs of campsite and trail permit lotteries. And we have a robust risk management process to follow in case anything happens on the trail.
Lllama treks
Explore the backcountry with friendly llamas and lighter backpacks. The llamas stay with you for the duration of the trip, and make for a great story to share with your friends.
Stock and Portered Trips
Get supported in harder-to-reach destinations where using packstock (usually horses or mules) or local porters make the hiking and camping much more manageable. Think remote destinations in Nepal, Peru, and Africa.
April Sale FAQ
What are the travel deals?
Our Spring Sale is your chance to save on hundreds of our small group trips departing in 2026. We’ve got trips all over the world on sale, many of which only go on sale once or twice a year. You can save the most on USA backpacking trips, 12-20% off depending on the season and the region. Save 15% on most basecamp and portered trips anywhere in the world. Lodge based and hut-to-hut trips are 10-12% off–no exceptions there: they’re all on sale! You don’t want to miss it – there won’t be another opportunity to save like this on our peak summer trips for 2026.
When does Wildland's sale begin and end?
The sale is only around for a limited time, beginning on April 15 and ending on April 24.
Do these deals apply to all Wildland trips?
This sale is applicable to most multi-day departures, both in the USA and abroad. The discount amount will vary based on both the destination and trip type. The discounted price is as-marked on the website during the sale period in the “Dates” section.
Within the USA, the John Muir Expedition Backpack trip, Half Dome Trek, and Rim to Rims of all seasons are excluded from the sale due to the immense difficulty of securing permits. Day hikes and departures beginning in 2027 are also excluded.
The Spring Sale discount cannot be applied to existing reservations. Return Hiker Discount does not apply. Click here for our standard terms and conditions.
Are travel deals refundable if my plans change?
Our flexible payment policy applies during the April Sale, meaning you can secure a travel deal by paying a deposit, then pay the rest in installments – in amounts you like, when you like, up to 61 days before departure. Only trips departing within the next 60 days will need to be paid in full.
If you wish to cancel and rebook your trip or change dates outside the promotional period, there may be associated transfer fees, difference in pricing that will change the rate of your remaining payment, or a cancellation fee depending on how soon the trip is set to depart. Always give us a call or email if you are unsure.
What should I know before booking a trip on sale?
Our Spring Sale applies to the trip price only and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or discount. It also applies to the land element of the trip only and cannot be redeemed against flights, additional accommodation, transfers, or travel insurance. Unless specified during the sale period, Wildland Trekking’s Booking Conditions apply.
Our trips are subject to availability and confirmation by Wildland Trekking at time of booking.
What if I received a code for this sale?
Our text message subscribers received early access to the sale. If you received a text message code from Wildland, it will work until 11:59pm MST on April 14. The same sale restrictions and percentages apply, you got first pick and first notice.
