Mark G.

Mark grew up in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains where he spent his free time scampering about in the pines and the mountains with his friends and family. On a trip with his parents to look at colleges in Arizona he took his first step into the Grand Canyon and was instantly captivated. After receiving a degree in Environmental Studies and Anthropology from Northern Arizona University Mark took some time to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. This Journey from Canada to Mexico is what truly sparked his desire to share the outdoors with others. It wasn’t until after teaching middle school math and science in Flagstaff for a few years that he began guiding rafting trips on the Colorado River and the San Juan river as a side gig. After taking on the director role at the school for a couple years he has now committed to full time hiking, backpacking and river guiding! In his free time Mark can be found hanging with his family and friends, exploring new places, seeing live music, playing guitar, hiking and mountain biking.
