Ian P.

Born in Nashville, the Cumberland Plateau and Great Smoky mountains were Ian’s playground as a kid. When Ian was eleven his family moved back to their home state of Michigan where he thoroughly explored the Upper Peninsula and the entire western lakeshore. Ian then returned to Tennessee completing his bachelors in Public Relations and Business Administration at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, spending all of his free time in the Great Smoky Mountains.

In 2021 Ian began to feel complacent with his normal life working for ESPN / freelancing in production. Ian was constantly fantasizing about summers spent in the western wilderness living out of his car. Ian was craving something more meaningful which led to his thru hike of the PCT in 2023. He’s always had an immense appreciation for our wild spaces, but the bond blossomed to new heights on this trek, especially in the Sierra. It made him realize he needed to change the trajectory of his career. Soon after Ian’s return from the PCT, the woods would not stop calling and he quit his job to become a guide, combining his love for hiking and photography.

On these adventures Ian hopes to spread his passion for our preserved land, helping facilitate the wilderness experience you have envisioned, and capture precious moments throughout the trip.
