Tanner Trail Private Hike
Day Hike Tours
1 Day 4-6MI / 6-11KMTrip Highlights
Looking for a more adventurous Grand Canyon hike? This prehistoric trail was improved by Seth Tanner in the 1880s to reach mining claims and was at one time part of the Horse-thief Trail. We will walk this steep trail through limestone and sandstone formations. If adventure-in-a-day is what you’re after, join us for this one!
This is our most serious day hike. We descend 2-3 miles down the Tanner Trail, which is known by avid Grand Canyon hikers as one of the more serious trails on the South Rim. Be ready to challenge yourself on an exciting hike and soak up quintessential Grand Canyon views!

Every step, from booking to completing our hike, was genuinely brilliant. Our guide, Catherine, was delightful company as well as a thoughtful and knowledgable instructor on all things Grand Canyon, as well tips on the best places to visit nearby.

2 years agoGreat challenging hike
Stephen was great and not only kept 2 adults entertained and engaged but also connected with our 15 year old daughter. The hike was challenging as we are from Florida and the elevation was tough, but he was patient and encouraging which was very pleasant
