Sarah grew up in Silicon Valley, earned a Communication degree from UC Santa Barbara and worked for nearly a decade as an Information Technology marketer. She discovered a love for backpacking late in life on an extended sabbatical, when she bought a one-way plane ticket to Chilean Patagonia to hike the famous “W” in Torres del Paine and explore the nearby region. Her three-month trip turned into three years and a career in the outdoors: she has now completed numerous 100+ mile section hikes, earned her Wilderness First Responder, moved to the Tetons, and begun working as a backpacking guide with Wildland Trekking and a ski instructor at Jackson Hole. She doubts she’ll ever get enough of beautiful mountain peaks, stargazing, and surprise wildlife encounters.
