Day Hike Tours

1 Day 7MI / 11KM

  • Hikers on their way to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, Maine

Trip Highlights

If you’re ready to hike and explore Acadia, earn quintessential views of oceans and mountains, ascend above tree-line to a wonderland of granite and subalpine “Krummholz” trees, then this day trip is for you! We’ll meet at the Hulls Cove Visitor Center parking lot and first start up Cadillac Mountain. The hiking is steep, with some moderate exposure in places. At the top of Cadillac we’ll enjoy a snack, soak up the views, and have an opportunity to use an actual bathroom. After descending the south ridge of Cadillac Mountain, our next endeavor is Pemetic Mountain via its south ridge. Working up granite slabs and forested trails, we’ll reach the summit of Pemetic. Because we’re so far north and so close to the ocean, we’ll be above tree-line in the unique alpine world of Acadia National Park. The views are dramatic, with the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against granite cliffs more than a thousand feet below us. Your guide will prepare a delicious picnic lunch at the top of Pemetic, and then we’ll descend via its north ridge back to our starting point.
