Matthew O.
Matt was born and raised in Connecticut where, at a young age, his adventures in the mountains began. Through scouting, he was able to attend monthly camping trips in some nearby locations, including sections of the Appalachian trail and the high peaks of the Adirondacks. Eventually, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and continued to pursue his outdoor education at the University of Vermont. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, and a minor in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, he explored the Green and White Mountains as much as possible. Since then, Matt has become passionate about living and working in the outdoors and drawn to the simple lifestyle that comes with it. He has lead trail crews through the wilderness of Montana and spent winters working and skiing in the mountains of Colorado. The incredible people and landscapes encountered along the way have only helped inspire and strengthen his love for the outdoors, most recently leading to thru hikes of the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide trail.
