Felipe V.

For years Felipe spent his vacations acting on his passion for exploration: backpacking through Chile, Argentina, Perú and Bolivia. He specifically traveled and hiked a lot through Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia, and in 2010 he decided to leave his city career (as a counselor and life coach) behind and become a mountain guide and outdoor educator. Felipe drove his career towards the outdoors, focusing on the two things he most enjoyed: teaching and traveling. In the process he discovered mountaineering, and in 2012 he began instructing for the U.S.-based National Outdoor Leadership (NOLS), and then guiding trips for Wildland starting in 2018. He is formally trained in Alpine Mountaineering, Glacier Travel, Rock Climbing and Sea Kayaking. He has guided hiking and trekking trips in Patagonia, the Wind River Range and the Pacific Northwest. He his a certified Wilderness First Responder, Avalanche Level 1 Technician, speaks fluent English and has led more than 100 expeditions. He is most remembered by his guests and students for his sense of humor and problem solving in the outdoors.
