Bob C.
Bob grew up in Chicago and made a conscious effort to spend his free time exploring the county forest preserves and the lakes and woods of northern Michigan. A steady stream of Thoreau and Farley Mowat books and a trip to the Colorado Rockies at age 18 ingrained a love of the mountains and nature in Bob. After serving in the U.S. Army as an infantry medic, Bob moved to Colorado and then Montana where he has lived for the past 30 years with his wife and children. Bob worked for nearly 20 years in environmental protection and has been featured in Backpacker Magazine, Outside magazine, Wall Street Journal, and several documentary films. He has backpacked extensively in the National Parks and Wilderness Areas of the intermountain West and Desert Southwest, with a particular affinity for the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. A professional guide since 1999, Bob enjoys sharing his knowledge and passion for the wild places he loves with others.
