-Wildland Trekking Guide-
Ian was born in Northwest Indiana, only a few miles south of Lake Michigan. He grew up hunting and fishing with his dad and grandpa and spent a lot of time running around outside. Ian attended Indiana University where he studied Political Science and Adventure Education. While at IU he also lead backpacking trips for the university’s outdoor adventure program. After college, Ian moved to Utah where he began working for a wilderness therapy program for adolescent males. This experience solidified his desire to have meaningful experiences while working in the outdoors. In the years since, he has worked with both adolescents and adults in wilderness therapy, lead coastal canoeing expeditions in Southeastern Alaska and backpacking expeditions in Australia. Ian currently splits his time as a backpacking guide for Wildland Trekking and a Field Instructor for NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School). When not working, Ian can be found climbing, snowboarding, running and looking for adventures in the mountains or desert.
