Born and raised in Colorado, Floyd has a lifelong passion for his home state! Floyd has worked in Colorado as an Alpine and Nordic ski instructor and as an assistant with avalanche control. Floyd has a Master’s Degree in horticulture from Colorado State University and a strong interest in the wildflowers of the Rockies. On any hike, he is scoping out the berry patches. After a career in marketing, Floyd returned to his backcountry roots. He completed a thru hike of the Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trails, covering 500 miles. Other adventures include hut to hut backpacking in Argentina, hiking on a portion of the Camino de Santiago in Portugal and Spain, and exploring the countryside of Bangladesh. Floyd enjoys sharing his love of the mountains with everyone he meets, and feels a special connection with the over 50 crowd, encouraging and cultivating a vibrant lifelong interest in the outdoors and healthy living.
