Had the time of our lives

Wildland Trekking's 'John Muir Trail: June Lake to Yosemite' (Tuolumne) trip is a wonderful adventure, a masterfully guided and supported, and (notably for High Sierra newbies like me) utterly safe, trek through a spectularly beautiful pristine mountain wilderness. Day 1's hike did require about 1k more ascent than 2k the website indicated at the time. However, all guests, including two in their 70's, made it over without issue. The chosen northbound direction, wherein we finished (not started) in Tuolumne Meadows was spot on, too. Donahue Pass, at 12k asl, was very do-able for us sea-level guests, because we had 3+ days to acclimate, and of course, we were never rushed along. We passed, and camped at, many stunning locations, swam in a half-dozen pristine mountain lakes and streams. We experienced very few mosquitos, but just in case, do bring the spray and head-net. Ian Petri and Riley Sump, our guides, were (and I say this as a veteran tour guest), a case-study in perfect guiding. Very friendly, helpful, highly skilled, attentive to guests, very fine camp cooks, and overall a distinct pleasure to be with at the campfire. Within a day, we were all a truly merry band of hikers having the time of our lives. As a parting note, unique trips like this seem to attract unique and exceptional people, so the solo traveler need not hesitate.

Priceless

This was my 4th hike with Wildland Trekking and again they never disappoint. The guides Fred and Chris were great. They made the journey enjoyable with all their knowledge of the trail and surrounding mountains. Great food and great company. Having mules assist allowed us to carry light weight packs. Priceless

a beautiful experience

Amazing trip. This was our fourth mother daughter hiking trip with Wildland and one of the best. It isa great way to experience some of the PCT, JMT and high Sierras without having to carry all the weight. The food was absolutely amazing as were the camp sites. We got to swim in amazing alpine lakes all over. Chris and Fred were amazing guides. Very knowledgeable and patient. Challenging hikes at elevations but also had time at camp in the evenings to relax. Beautiful experience. Highly recommend. Also shout out to Liz Lucas for driving us out to Yosemite and going above and beyond to make our experience a great one!
