-Wildland Guide and Blog Contributor-
Wes was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. He rambled all over the Great Basin Desert in his youth and started his guiding journey in earnest when he realized that he wanted to connect his daughter to wild, unbuilt places. What began as volunteer work grew into an official position leading participants on multi day public lands stewardship projects in all corners of Nevada. Since that time, 15 years ago, he has worked in many capacities in trail-building, environmental stewardship, nonprofit management, and community engagement; he also spent ten of those years in Alaska. This experience honed Wes’ appreciation for his desert birthplace. He is glad to be back to connecting people to unique places and sharing life-changing experiences. When he’s not guiding, other favorite activities include mountain running, local trail building, Nordic skiing, winter fat-tire biking, and watching Vines on YouTube.
