Max Chandler

Max was born and raised in Ohio and began exploring the local forests as a young boy scout. An outdoor guide since 2019; Max led hiking, canoeing, and skiing trips across North America before settling into work as a hiking and backpacking guide. In between personal adventures, he earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Western Governors University as well as certifications in wilderness medicine, outdoor ethics, mountain safety, and swiftwater rescue. When not leading Wildland Trekking trips, he shares the joys and lessons of outdoor adventure with middle and high school students while leading outdoor education programs; and enjoys personal skiing, rock climbing, and whitewater canoe trips.
