Trip Logistics & FAQs
Where Do We Meet?
You will rendezvous with your guide in front of the Staircase Ranger Station East of Hoodsport and caravan to the trailhead. The last few miles of road are well-maintained gravel, but drive slowly and watch for potholes. Your guide will contact you approximately 7 days before your hike to coordinate the exact time and location of your rendezvous.
Safety Precautions
Your safety is our top priority. Our hiking tours are led by professional hiking guides, all of whom are wilderness-certified first responders or EMT’s, each with years of guiding and wilderness experience. Guides adhere to standardized risk management protocols in case of any potential or actual incident, and all tours carry an emergency communication device and comprehensive first-aid kit. Additionally we have a “24/7” system through which guides or guests can reach Wildland support personnel at any time.
If you have any further questions about safety, please contact us at 1-800-715-HIKE (4453) for more information.

Our guide was great. Patient with my two children (6 & 10yo). We learned so much on our day hike and felt very comfortable with our guide.

We had a spectacular day with our guided hike led by Kyle. He was very prepared for our safety and fun. Lunch was exceptionally good! As we walked, he checked in with us periodically to make sure we were doing ok. We never felt uncomfortable having a guide with us all day; rather, it seemed like he was a friend of ours leading a hike. Wonderful experience for me, my wife and three daughters (14, 12, 8).

4 years agoAnother fantastic hike with Wildland Trekking!!
Consistency and excellent quality are the level of service the Wildland Trekking Team provides. Drew continued to meet those high standards!! Drew also made his special Pimento Cheese and prosciutto on a croissant sandwich for our lunch that was really delicious!! Looking forward to my next hike with the Wildland Trekking Team!!
