Make the most of your time in Africa with this Wildlife Safari and Cultural Tour! 6 days in length and all-inclusive, our Wild Africa Safari tour is an opportunity to experience Africa’s amazing wildlife and unique, colorful cultures. We immerse ourselves in the African tribal cultures of the inhabitants of the Maasai Steppe and learn of their traditional and current ways of life. The days are filled with exploration and a healthy mixture of safaris in three of Tanzania’s best national parks, cultural activities and relaxation in luxurious accommodations with top notch cuisine. All of this is done in comfort with safari Land Cruisers being used for all our travels.
We’ll have the possibility to observe and photograph lions, leopards, African buffalo, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, wildebeests, hippos and much more of Africa’s most classic wildlife. We will visit with three different tribal communities; the Hazabe, Datoga and Maasai. The natural beauty of the areas we visit is impossible to describe, but we will just leave it at “breathtaking!

Pre-trip Arrival and Accommodations
If you are not joining us for our Kilimanjaro trek prior to the Safari, you will need to arrive the day prior to Day 1 by 3 pm at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), airport, where we will pick you up and transfer you to our hotel. Hotel and dinner are included the pre-trip night.
Day 1
Accommodation: Luxury Bush Camp in Tarangire National Park
This morning we’ll awake to a delicious breakfast at the hotel and prepare for our adventure in the Tanzanian wild. Your guide and driver will deliver a short orientation meeting and safari briefing. We will then hit the road for Tarangire National Park, dotted with soaring baobab trees. This area experiences its own small-scale migration as animals move between Tarangire and Lake Manyara in search of food and water. We’ll enjoy our first game drive so be on the lookout for elephants, cape buffalo, herds of gazelle, zebra, giraffe, and warthogs. Predators such as lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and leopards roam this incredible park.
After we enjoy our packed lunch, we will continue our journey to Ngorongoro Highlands. Breathe in the beautiful landscape enroute to our lodge for the evening. Along the way we get to enjoy the beautiful landscape as we climb the escarpment. Arrive at your lodge, located in the town of Karatu. Time to relax, enjoy dinner, and recall the beauty of what we’ve experienced today.
Day 2
Accommodation: Luxury Bush Camp in Serengeti National Park
Today we head to Serengeti National Park! In order to reach the Serengeti, we travel through the Ngoro Ngoro Conservation Area, skirting the massive Ngoro Ngoro Crater. We’ll experience a game drive on our way to our evenings accommodation and we’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Olduvai Gorge. This gorge holds human remains that provide us with the most continuous known record of human evolution during the last 2 million years! We’ll arrive in time for lunch and check-in at camp Serengeti. The afternoon finds us on another game drive, have those binoculars handy!
Day 3
Accommodation: Luxury Bush Camp in Serengeti National Park
Today we have a full day game drive, where we’ll get to experience the sprawling plains first-hand. The plains of the Serengeti are home to thousands of hoofed animals and apex predators. You’ll see flat and rolling terrain with long grasses, dotted with acacia trees. These plains get their name from the Maasai word Siringitu- “the place where the land moves on forever.”
Day 4
Accommodation: Lodge in Karatu
After our fresh breakfast at camp, we’ll begin the 1 hour drive to Ngoro Ngoro where we have the incredible opportunity to explore the Ngoro Ngoro Crater. Within this immense crater (115 square miles!), multiple ecosystems flourish — riverine forests, open plains, freshwater and alkaline lakes. These ecosystems house a remarkable concentration of wildlife, including the highly endangered black rhinoceros. The scenery is unparalleled as we drive through the park and descend nearly 2000 ft. into this ancient caldera. Due to conservation efforts, the Ngoro Ngoro UNESCO World Heritage Site and Conservation Area has strict time limits for visitation. After our time is up, we will continue on to Karatu for the evening and enjoy the afternoon at the lodge, taking in more of the wonderful views this Tanzanian Safari has to offer.
Day 5
Drive Time: 1.5 hours
Accommodation: Hotel in Arusha
This morning, we’ll travel to the agricultural market town of Mto Wa Mbu near the Lake Manyara National Park. Though we are off of the main tourist trail, the market provides space for handmade items and is a great place to purchase gifts and support the artisans who work here. We may visit the village banana plantation, a youth art project, and a workshop where we can watch the skilled Makonde tribe members carve intricate wood figures, masks, etc. We’ll also have time to visit a Maasai boma. If you wish, the tribesmen may offer to paint on you traditional Maasai tattoos (don’t worry, they’re temporary!). After our walk through the village, we’ll have a delicious local Swahili meal which you have the option to prepare all together. After lunch, we then head to Arusha and check in for our hotel where you’ll have the rest of the day to yourself.
Day 6
After breakfast, you will be transferred from the hotel to the airport and say our final goodbyes. Flights should be booked for departure after 9 am.

ANGATA TARANGIRE
1 NIGHT
An’gata Tarangire is a luxury bush camp with 8 guest tents and a dining tent. Each guest tent has an ensuite bathroom with solar-heated showers, running water, and a western-style toilet. There is a dining tent and a lounge tent with comfortable sofas and armchairs to enjoy coffee, tea or a glass a wine. This is the ideal setting to mingle with other travelers and share of your Safari exploits!
AN'GATA SERENGETI
2 NIGHTS
This camp is comprised of luxury canvas tents with all of the comforts of a premier hotel. The tents are big, bright and allow in lots of natural light. All tents are classic safari style each with ensuite bathrooms.
KUDU LODGE
1 NIGHT
Kudu lodge is located in the heart of the northern Tanzania safari circuit. The lodge is situated on 11 acres of rolling countryside complete with trees and gardens. This natural setting is home to a myriad of birds and a shady oasis for visitors. Nearby visitors will find the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara National Park, Tangire National Park, and Lake Eyasi.
THE AFRICAN TULIP
1 NIGHT
The African Tulip is a luxury boutique hotel located in Arusha. Complete with ensuite bathrooms, restaurant, bar, and poolside bar, this hotel will provide all the comfort you need to rest up before your return flight home. Tanzania’s rich cultural and wilderness diversity helped shape the decor that is presented throughout the hotel.

Entry Requirements (Visa Requirement)
For checking entry requirements for this trip, we recommend using the travel tool, Sherpa Travel. Here, you can view what is required to enter the country, including necessary travel documents, visas, and vaccinations. If a visa is required, you can apply directly through this service. You may also check for entry requirements for your nationality on consular websites or your country’s foreign travel advisories. Ensuring you have completed all necessary steps to enter the country is your responsibility.
U.S. citizens may also obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at the airport in Tanzania.
Arrival and Departure Details
Trip Start: If you’re doing this tour as a stand-alone experience, and not hiking Kilimanjaro with us, you will need to fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) the day before the tour begins, no later than 3 pm. We will then pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel (included) in Moshi, Tanzania. Hotel and dinner are included this pre-trip evening.
For those who are hiking Kilimanjaro with us, the final day of the trip, Day 10, will be Day 1 of the Safari. Your Safari guide will meet you in the breakfast room at 7:30 AM, please be ready to leave by 8:00 AM.
Trip End: This trip ends in Arusha, Tanzania. We will shuttle you to the airport after breakfast on Day 6. Flights should be scheduled no earlier than 9 am.
If you would like a shuttle to/from the airport at a different time or day, please contact the Adventure Consultant team to arrange a private shuttle for you.
Our Tanzania communications team will be in contact approximately 45 days before your trip to coordinate your rendezvous and answer any last-minute questions you have.

Pre and Post-trip On Request Lodging
We secure limited amounts of pre and post trip lodging in Moshi, Tanzania as an optional add-on for guests of this trip. This lodging is on request, and is available on a first come, first serve basis. If interested, please reach out directly to our team to check availability.
Safety Precautions
Your safety is our top priority. Our hiking tours are led by professional hiking guides, all of whom are wilderness-certified first responders or EMT’s, each with years of guiding and wilderness experience. Guides adhere to standardized risk management protocols in case of any potential or actual incident, and all tours carry an emergency communication device and comprehensive first-aid kit. Additionally we have a “24/7” system through which guides or guests can reach Wildland support personnel at any time.
In the interest of your safety, it’s important to refer to the Center for Disease Control website for up-to-date recommendations on immunizations before your trip.

Age Restrictions
Age restrictions on this trip are as follows:
- 12 and older to join scheduled tours (mixed groups)
- 5 and older to join private tours, with final approval and specific logistical requirements (such as porter or stock assist) determined on a case by case basis
Trip Insurance
Field evacuation, repatriation, and medical insurance is REQUIRED on this trip as a condition of partnership terms with our Tanzania vendors (field evacuation and repatriation minimum coverage is a combined $200,000 USD).

This was an incredible wildlife and cultural experience! We saw incredibly diverse scenery and an astonishing number of different species. Accommodations and transportation were top notch and our driver/guide was great. Highly recommend!

The safari blew my mind. From the accommodations, being able to meet and interact with the different tribes and the beauty of the Serengeti, the Crater. All the animals were incredible.
