Description
This is a fantastic summer hike in Sedona or a great one for people who want to explore a true oasis in the desert that was once used by indigenous tribes! Our hike takes us through Wet Beaver Wilderness Area a little outside of Sedona Canyon Country and offers native petroglyphs, desert riparian zones, basalt bluffs, and one of the best natural swimming holes in Arizona. We’ll cool off in the shade of streamside Cottonwood trees and/or take a dip in the clear waters of Wet Beaver Creek at the area known as “The Crack”. After enjoying the creek, we have the option to continue our hike east to the Mogollon Rim- 1,100 feet above Wet Beaver Creek- for amazing views! (For a shorter, easier hike we can return to the trailhead from our swimming spot, eliminating most of the elevation gain/loss and a couple miles of hiking.)
(Important: We run hikes in almost all weather conditions and very rarely cancel. See our terms and conditions for information on cancellations and refunds.)
